While watching #Baramulla I was struck by this scene since hardly 2 months back I had posted this image of Devi from a Dogra Rajput house in Kashmir.

This traditional Devi sculpture used to be made during Navratra in Dogra households with mud and plastered on walls. The sculpture along with the saankh (barley that is grown from the seeds for 9 days) would together be released ‘Pravah’ into the river after 9 days.
This image is from a Dogra Rajput house in village Reshnagri , district Shopian, Kashmir, clicked in 2020
This particular sculpture is around 50 plus years old. It had not been cleared by the family.
