Microsoft Bing is paying (in points) to keep you on the Edge browser when you search for Google Chrome on Windows 11. This ad says you can earn Microsoft Rewards points, then use the points to get free gift cards, which can be redeemed on platforms like Amazon. Anti-Chrome ads on Bing / Microsoft Edge cannot be turned off. Is this ad good enough to convince you to keep using Microsoft Edge?

Here's another ad, which has a dismiss button. In this case, when you search “Chrome” on Bing, you’ll see an ad saying Edge gives you everything you need. It claims Edge works like Chrome but adds perks, then shows a checklist with checkmarks for Edge, Rewards, built-in VPN, AI features, “Microsoft recommended” and Xs for Chrome.

No idea why they need to do this other than mindshare. Edge is a superior browser. It's much, much, MUCH more memory efficient than Chrome.

The only use of edge and bing is to install chrome lol and then it gets removed from desktop.

I use Edge and Bing daily now, and it works fine. Started using it because of Windows often opening Edge instead of default browser, and because of Rewards 😝

I've been using Bing and Edge for months, especially Bing, and I haven't had many complaints, the search engine improved considerably, except for searching for stupid things xd

Honestly you dont need chrome when edge does the same things 1,300 is also a great deal because you can turn it into xbox credit which can be spent on anything from the Microsoft Store

The least Microsoft can do is pay people to use the browser, just like Google, everything related to points is restricted or curtailed in many countries. In my case, it's barely enough to redeem on Uber Eats; that depends on Uber accepting those points.

It would be fine to gamify browsing with Edge, if it WOULDN'T TAKE AGES TO GRIND FOR ENOUGH POINTS!!!

If you need to give gift cards to get people to use your browser, you need to ask yourself a few questions.

This kind of ad is proper. The decades long sneers and defamation of Microsoft that Google and Apple engaged in, and other companies like those, on the other hand, should disgust anyone with even a little bit of honour and class. But alas, the stupid majority hardly noticed.

Google was putting up banners on google.com and gmail.com for *every* browser not Chrome. That was far more effective than a little Bing rewards program.

I don't have this ad because I use Edge.
