Oh my goodness! This is the read of the Year! It encapsulates exactly the problem the West is facing currently and points to the way out. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Superb piece by Paul Friesen. Tolerance is a virtue but should not be extended to tolerating violent intolerance. In particular, why does the liberal West give a free pass to the intolerant medieval bigotry of Islamism? Please read the whole article. pfriesen.substack.com/p/the-…

Yup. As some of us have been saying for years, the carbon obsession is an ecological as well as an economic disaster.
This is appalling. It’s what happens when the entire environmental cause is reduced down to one goal- carbon reduction- and the actual environment, the forests and complex Ecosystems we all fundamentally rely on are destroyed in pursuit of it. We are seeing it too with mining for critical minerals like Cobalt in the Congo basin.

I'm grateful for Iqbal Mohamed MP for being so open about his plans for Britain. Now the elephant in the room is stamping it's feet, we can have no doubts about what we're dealing with from weak MPs trying to bury their heads. Thanks, Iqbal.
🚨 Emboldened after banning Jews from Birmingham, at the Second City’s “Your Party” event tonight — to an all-Muslim audience — the increasingly dangerous Iqbal Mohamed MP declared: “We must take over the whole of Birmingham, the whole of the West Midlands, the whole of the UK… we will not be taken for granted, and we will win."

A second migrant removed to France under the UK government’s one in, one out deal has returned to Britain. The unnamed man arrived back in the UK after joining nearly 400 migrants who crossed the Channel in small boats on Sunday. It’s getting easier to collect people-smuggler loyalty miles than BA avios!

I wonder how Ed Davey would feel if the BBC's flagship investigative news programme had spliced together two sentences 54 minutes apart in one of his speeches to make it seem as if he'd incited a violent insurrection?
I’ve written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage urging them to condemn Donald Trump’s attack on the BBC. The BBC belongs to Britain, not Trump. We must defend it together.

I can say that after a week on the US west coast the UK and Europe are regarded as humiliatingly irrelevant to global innovation.
UK Innovation Is Bleeding To Death: The House of Lords Science & Tech Committee just dropped a brutal 2025 report: “We’re world-class at inventing… and world-class at losing it.” - DeepMind? London-born. Google’s now. - Arm? Cambridge chip genius. SoftBank owned. - Graphcore? Bristol AI unicorn. Folded into SoftBank – 500+ UK jobs gone. - Skyscanner? Edinburgh unicorn. £1.4B to Chinese Ctrip - control vanished. - Hopin? £4B peak in London. Liquidated UK ops in 2024 to chase US scale. This isn’t bad luck. It’s a system failure. THE DOOM LOOP 1. UK invents 2. No capital 3. Forced to sell/move abroad 4. No jobs, tax, growth 5. Even less capital Productivity is flat since 2008. Real wages stagnant. We’re trapped. 5 KILLER FINDINGS - Pensions ghosted tech - UK funds invest <1% in growth ventures (US: ~8%). They’d rather buy US bonds than back British AI. - Gov is siloed & slow - Innovate UK, BBB, NWF all separate. UAE deploys billions in a call. We play checkers while they play chess. - We block talent - £1,500+ visa fees + 8-week waits. Top engineers go to Berlin/SF. DeepMind thrived on immigrants - then Google poached the ecosystem. - Regulators fear risk - Over-regulate at lab scale, wonder why no one scales. RADICAL FIXES – ACT NOW 1. Pension Power-Up Mandate 5% of UK pensions to growth equity by 2030 → £100BN+ patient capital. 2. British Scale-Up Command: Merge Innovate UK + BBB + NWF into one agile agency: • £10BN fund • 90-day decisions • Co-invest mandates 3. Golden Visa for Founders • £0 fees • 24-month scale-up visa • Settlement at £10M revenue Attract 1,000 global founders/year. 4. “Fail Fast” Regulation 24-month sandbox for all new tech. Regulators in startups. Fast-track winners. Learn from failures. 5. Celebrate Builders • National Scale-Up Day • Tax breaks on employee shares • Founder in Residence @ No. 10 Culture eats strategy. Make building cool again. We’re at a tipping point. Lose another decade = more DeepMinds lost forever. Act now = next unicorns stay British. TBH, this does not exactly instill a sense of safety and security in me or any other white person I imagine. It is truly malevolent and insidious to call for and openly admit to Racism against White people or to anyone based on their skin colour. Does this go on in the NHS too?
This report commissioned and endorsed by the Met Police is a disgrace. It attacks something it calls ‘whiteness’ - which is apparently bad. And it asserts that anti-black outcomes are ‘built in’ to the police. Extreme identity-based grievance ideology is divisive, inaccurate and destructive. If implemented, it would make the public less safe - including the black community. The report also attacks stop and search - which saves lives, removes thousands of weapons from our streets, and protects the very communities most affected by violent crime. Stop and search in London is used proportionately to the offending population and the success rate is about the same across ethically groups. There is no justification for weakening it. The way to rebuild trust in policing is through results – tackling crime, delivering fairness, and ensuring every officer is supported to do their job professionally and without fear or favour. Everyone should just be treated equally by the police before the law. This report contains a lot of dangerous nonsense.

If only @elonmusk hadn’t bought X, the BBC could have gone on getting away with bias, selective editing, material omission. That’s the real ‘coup’ being complained of. The Left, ProPals and Progressives are livid the public has a voice. To complain noisily and effectively. @TimesRadio @stephensackur

The BBC was at peak misinformation during the COVID pandemic. 🤔 They always seemed to find hospital wards where lots of patients were apparently unvaccinated. 📈 The national data showed the majority in hospital with COVID were vaccinated. Years of biased reporting.
🚨🚨 BBC News at Ten @BBCFergusWalsh “4 out of 5 patients on this Covid ward here are unvaccinated” ➡️ Can you point to the statistics for this Fergus? Official data says around 36% of patients with Covid admitted are unvaccinated in England and 13% in Wales. @BBCNews #bbcnews

This is really a huge part of all our ills. The UN.
🚨 UN CHIEF DEMANDS CENSORSHIP CRACKDOWN António Guterres has called for tighter control of social media, claiming that “false narratives” threaten the UN’s Agenda 2030 goals and global stability. He condemned what he called “a tsunami of conspiracy theories” and demanded action against platforms that allow them to spread. Translation: the UN wants the power to decide what’s true — and to silence whatever challenges its agenda. When unelected bureaucrats start policing speech in the name of “safety,” it’s not protection. It’s digital authoritarianism in disguise.

If Reeves introduces an Exit Tax she may as well call it the Exodus Tax — for that’s what it’d lead to, as this letter shows. She’s set another disastrous pre-budget hare running. She needs to rule this out now.
I have invested $200M into the UK in the last five years. If @RachelReevesMP implements “Exit Tax” all that funding will go overnight. That is countless jobs, companies and people who will lose out. Rachel, you have managed to steal our hopes, our dreams even our growth, don’t take our freedom also. @Dom_Hallas 🙏 for his work here 👇 no-exit-tax.co.uk

The BBC took a giant dump on journalistic integrity. The journos and politicos rushing out to defend it are just outing themselves as exemplars of the not-to-be trusted class. I don’t care about Tim Davie. He’s not even the tip of the iceberg. The whole lot is melting under the lamp of scrutiny. I’m writing this from the majestic Bush House once home to the BBC which was built as a literal temple of the English Speaking People. It’s a shame. But it wasn’t the people that destroyed the institution it was the chattering class that subverted and corrupted it.
