This is HUGE. This is how it all ends. If you can sue your doctor for harming you, the doctors will stop harming children. That’s all that ever mattered. Money. If it costs them more to harm kids than they make off of it they will stop. Good luck Wisconsinites!!
JUST IN: Republicans in Wisconsin introduced a new bill that will ALLOW individuals to SUE health care providers for performing chemical and surgical castrations on CHILDREN. THIS MUST PASS PROTECT THE CHILDREN

You used to be able to sue your doctors, when did it change? That's why doctors had malpractice insurance.

Inevitably the governor would veto this if it made it that far. They will need a supermajority to get this done. It’s a necessary bill but one that will surely fail in any blue state.

This is fantastic, but it's easy to get around this proposed bill if it passes. The problem is Minnesota. Minnesota is still a trans destination state that will provide free GAC and legal defense to those who come to Minnesota for this atrocity. So, there isn't much a new bill that passes in Wisconsin will do to really protect it's residents who wish to harm themselves. A sick parent who is bent on destroying their child can just take the trans-highway to Minnesota. Planned Parenthood was expanding in many locations in Minnesota to capitalize on out of state commerce as part of their expansion plans. This is the reality that people need to understand. If passing a bill makes people feel safe in Wisconsin, it's just a false sense of security unless you build a border wall between Minnesota and Wisconsin. I am in favor of this if just a single child in Wisconsin is preventing from getting harmed in Minnesota.

You could always sue doctors for harming you, it's called malpractice.

It was always about money. Absolute butchers will take that cash and carve up your body anyway you want it sliced… insurance and big pharma saw the fat cash in it too. A patient for life! Ka-Ching !

No problem for the Doctors, they’ll just get the patients to sign legally binding contractual disclaimers. Oh, wait, children under 18 (minors) cannot sign legally binding disclaimers (or any contracts) on their own.

@LeeL0031 @skittles_XXX @ur_un_here @CassieJo007 @TheKJofTikTok @CelataVexata @Figuregirl1977 @lokifrostbane I’ve been saying this from the beginning! If malpractice premiums rise from all the lawsuits it’ll stop tomorrow.

If only there was something like this in Oregon or Washington State

Incredibly important news, once a precedent is set, the domino's will fall. Hopefully, docs and hospitals are over the world will realise they could be next

Always amazed me that private health insurance would pay for unnecessary and damaging treatment.

I pray this passes, but there is too much corruption in WI for common sense to be implemented

I wish we could do it in the UK

Our governor will veto it. 😞
Replying to @babybeginner
It won’t pass. Governor Evers will 100% veto it like he’s done with every other bill restricting transgenderism. And the legislature doesn’t have enough votes to override.

Love it, But the skeletor in office, Evers will never sign it.

Yup. I've been thinking that when the law suits start-and they will-you're gonna hear brakes screaching from insurance companies and "gender" clinics. And people will run from association with this ideology

Yep. Once the doctors are sued INDIVIDUALLY and lose in court, they become a LIABILITY for any MALPRACTICE INSURANCE COMPANY. That’s how it ends. Money. Only through MONEY since @AmerMedicalAssn has no moral compass to stop Nazi Germany Dr. MENGELE type of experiments on kids!

Same should apply for any type of performed genital mutilation on children. Both parents and doctors should be liable if the kid wants to sue as an adult.

And thus the dark age of medical care descends again. Thanks for dooming us you selfish dick.

This is GREAT news!!!

Are we reading the same document? The bill specifically exempts from liability doctors who perform extreme body modification procedures on mentally-ill minors. That’s literally what it says. There are some (not very extensive) criteria that have to be fulfilled and that’s it.

Lady, this wasn’t even happening. Go steal a baby from a mom, you left behind dingleberry.

Sue the doctor for harming you? That's already a thing, it's called medical malpractice you troglodyte. Not to mention no one is chemically castrating children
