Omarchy 3.1 is out! With Windows VM built-in, universal copy'n'paste on Super + C/V, clipboard manager, tiling groups, live theme changes for neovim/Obsidian/Cursor, new flexoki theme, tons of fixes. Amazing update. github.com/basecamp/omarchy/…

The new tiling groups are fantastic. Especially on a small display. You can give every app tabs and easily fit a lot more on each workspace. Super + G to start a group, Super + Alt + Arrows to move windows into it, Super + Alt + G to move a window out.

Omarchy takes two minutes to install on a fast computer. You take longer in the loo, mate!

Appreciate universal copy-paste, but changes like these raise the question: how do I eject from Omarchy? or how do I pause or stop receiving updates for the Omarchy itself, while still being able to update everything else manually (like "pacman -Syu")

Just like that. You don't have to update. Can just run pacman yourself when you desire.

Omarchy update doesn't update to 3.1 on Intel Macbook (originally installed using beta offline iso) On my windows laptop, I just upgraded to Omarchy 3.1. On Intel Macbook, I had installed Archlinux/Omarchy a few months ago using a beta offline installer as the wifi card (broadcom) was not being recognized. At that time, the beta offline-iso did not include the broadcom packages. I am on 2.1.2. Whenever I upgrade, I get a message: Warning: Branch 'offline-iso-installer' no longer exists at origin. Would you like to switch to the main branch (master) before updating? I choose Yes. It upgrades a lot of packages and even the kernel but Omarchy is on 2.1.2

Need to switch back to master branch: cd $OMARCHY_PATH g co master g pull omarchy-update

Maybe you already have this, but it would be nice on OS installation to be able to setup what software is or isn't included/used/configured. So it gives people more options and people never have an initial experience of bloat because they pre-stripped anything they didn't want

There's zero bloat in Omarchy. Everything included in the defaults is something I use. And that's what the Oma in Omarchy stands for. learn.omacom.io/3/omacom/81/…

What's the best solution for backing up a linux distro? Easy to restore, etc. I have a nas that runs a Time Machine server etc.

I just use Dropbox. But hear folks do the same using syncthing on NAS.

Go to Update > Omarchy inside the Omarchy menu (Super + Alt + Space) to update an existing installation 👍

I love Omarchy ❤️, but I have a single SSD. If I install Omarchy on it, it will completely wipe my SSD, which I don't want. I want to dual boot.

Then install Arch first, set the partitions as you please, then do a manual installation: learn.omacom.io/2/the-omarch…

Is there a way to opt out of AI, chromium items in the install?

No. But you can just make substitutions after install. learn.omacom.io/3/omacom/81/…

One of things holding me back is zoom. I hate it, but I need it for school/work. Can you get it to play nice with hyprland?

I use Zoom all the time with Omarchy. It's baked in!

Is anyone else having an issue with live theming for Obsidian? I've installed the update on 2 computers now and there isn't an "omarchy" theme listed in 'appearance => themes'.
Where are your Vaults stored? It's currently just looking in ~/Documents and ~/Dropbox.
