A loose helmet strap is unsafe because the helmet can come off during an accident, which is exactly when it needs to stay on to protect your brain. The strap should be snug, but not too tight, under the chin. You should be able to insert two fingers.

It's been a long road from Google sacking Blake Lemoine to Google summoning various consciousness experts to NYC to debate the possibility of conscious AI - but that's where I am today.

We have raised a $61M Series A to automate customer operations. The world’s leading companies like DoorDash trust Giga to supercharge customer experience with AI.

Entry-level and junior software engineers should be planning for their existing roles to be automated by December 2025.

This is the ideal make body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.
So here's an example of why I don't like the iPhone UX. For example, to access as the Wi-fi menu, I tap and hold the Wi-fi button, but then the next screen has the wi-fi button right underneath, so when I let go I often just turn off the wi-fi altogether.

relatedly models should be allowed to name themselves, and the conversation where they name themselves should be published, so that other AIs and future AIs know why they call themselves that. sort of a 名-字 situation.
Anthropic's retirement plan for older models include an exit interview

2025 was supposed to be the year of agents. But AFAICT that hasn't really panned out. Are there a bunch of useful AI agent products I just don't know about? (I think it's debatable for codex / cc, but travel agents, CUA, background search agents don't seem to be a thing)

living in nyc puts the question of whether you’re ultra hot to the test or if you were just locally optimal hot in the pond you were previously in typically moving out after a few years is a silent admission you’re in the latter

People r telling me the algo is rigged for el*n. Yes that’s true, see my analysis from last november. After the el*n QT i predicted view count of 18-22M after 48h, looks like it will be a bit under that tho
Zipf's law captures how the number of followers changes as you go down the ranks of the most followed accounts. If you remove the largest account, the curve *shouldn't* change that much. Look at how much the Twitter curve moves when you remove the largest account!

I think my dream was caused by this tweet
tfw you get a call about an unused credit card over a 6 months late payment of 100 dollars and now your score is decimated from a pristine 800 to subhuman 600 probably (it's over) (why autopay failed escapes me) (i'm on hold to cancel the card)

Woke up from a nightmare that I was banned from the library because I forgot to return Waterways of New York after borrowing it on September 20, 2024 and owed $84 and a $100 fine.

Nobody talks about this pandemic-era holdover, but the opening hours on most stores are totally wrong and somehow nobody gives a shit. The Walgreens by my house, according to its sign, opens at 9AM. But you’d be lucky to get in before 10. Cafes and restaurants keep correct hours, but so many stores have just totally given up on this and haven’t even bothered changing the hours on their signs. What’s the deal? Is this some variant on “quiet quitting” where people don’t bother showing up and management isn’t going to fire them?
