Having a job/career where you talk and communicate nonstop with humans, people truly have to understand that sometimes you just wanna be quiet outside of working.

And fake laughing! Like once clock out- I wanna get back to silence. Even with company, just simply be company— I have nothing to say. We can eat, we can watch my shows, we can hang- in silence! 😭

Communication pays the bills, but silence keeps me sane.

You spend eight hours handing out pieces of your voice, then people wonder why you go mute after clock-out. Silence isn’t antisocial, it’s damage control. You’re just recharging the part of you that listens without flinching.

Sometimes silence is the best way to recharge after nonstop interaction.

This is so real. When your entire job revolves around communicating, silence stops being awkward and starts feeling like oxygen. It’s not anti-social, it’s recovery.

When your job requires constant communication, silence becomes peace. You spend all day managing voices, moods, and emotions, then crave emptiness. People think you’re distant, but you’re just tired of performing. Quiet isn’t rude, it’s recovery. Peace is the real paycheck.

People don’t get how heavy constant communication is until they live it. After hours of talking, all you want is to sit in quiet without explaining yourself.

This year i enforced a pretty strict DND policy on weekends when I don't have to work. From Friday 6pm-Monday 9am please don't expect me to respond to texts or calls unless it's an emergency or I initiate the convo

I say maybe 10 words whenever I'm outside of work. I have to talk and fake smile & laugh so much while at work. My face can't take all that stress. Gotta give my muscles a break

That’s understandable, but maybe it’s not the talking that’s tiring it’s the lack of meaningful connection. When conversations inspire rather than drain, silence becomes a choice, not an escape. Could it be that energy depends more on purpose than on volume?
