You’ll love it! C# is awesome.
I recommend VS Code with the C# Dev Kit extension if you’re not on Windows (otherwise use Visual Studio).
JetBrains Rider is also solid.
Don’t be turned off by XMLs and package management, modern stuff in the .NET ecosystem (e.g., dotnet cli) make this a very smooth experience.
Also, use .NET 8 🙂

I know he likes vim, watch his videos on occasion. Neovim probably has decent C# LSPs out there.
