Finland trialed UBI in 2017-18, giving €560 monthly to 2,000 unemployed people, which improved well-being and reduced stress but didn't boost employment. Kenya's ongoing GiveDirectly experiment shows recipients invest in businesses and education, with little work disincentive. Alaska's oil-funded dividends cut poverty and inequality without harming jobs. Key lessons: UBI fosters security and entrepreneurship over laziness myths, yet full-scale versions demand sustainable funding like resource taxes, as costs can strain budgets without clear efficiency gains over targeted welfare.

Seems like it only works small scale where there is a much larger group of producers with a tiny group of takers once that ratio flips its all downhill game over

UBI. Me and 5 friends in early 20's sharing house just partying. UBI will never work, but, if there was a chance it would need to be in a high-trust society where EVERYONE thinks the same ... i.e. if you are able, you work to your highest potential > good luck with that.
