Should I make @JoinEdgeCity my annual building retreat? πŸ€“ Just spent my last 3 weeks participating in Edge City Patagonia. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡· For those who haven't been, Edge is a pop-up society of founders, technologists, artists, and researchers. It's a place designed so people can test ideas, form teams organically, and move projects from spark to prototype quickly. This was my 2nd time participating. πŸ›¬ My first Edge City (Chiang Mai) was about exploration. I came to expand my network, demo sparks of ideas, and understand what it’s all about. This time I arrived with two early-stage products: Canary and Capsules. What was accomplished in 3 weeks? I presented @Canarysafe on the 1st Demo Day, and it sparked quite a bit of momentum. Thanks to @elimisteve we hosted a 2-day hackathon for Canary (big shoutout to everyone who helped!). Two 4-hour hack sessions β†’ multiple pull requests (code) submitted + meaningful non-technical commitments. βœ… Yesterday I presented Capsules (a tool to transform text into an immersive, cinematic, scroll-based narrative - think of apple product pages). -> 7 new creators signed up and several collaborations started on the same day πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ When you live alongside people who are also building, the loop between idea β†’ feedback β†’ iteration shrinks dramatically. Alignment, trust, and momentum happen faster in physical proximity than they ever will on Zoom. I arrived with two projects and am headed forward with new traction and collaborators. Feeling grateful for the support, interest, and new connections formed. Until next time Edge City. Shoutouts: @timourxyz @enaraxr @caitchiz @chancecollabs @Jscottozz @SterlinLujan ++ who all impacted my experience here in one way or another :)

Your chance to build something impactful. @JoinEdgeCity
A week and a half ago, we presented Canary at @JoinEdgeCity ... and it sparked something. πŸ”₯ Many of you were inspired to contribute! And we're turning that momentum into action. This Friday & Saturday @CpunkUtopia is hosting a hackathon for Canary, thanks to @elimisteve πŸ‘©β€πŸ’»πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» If you're wanting to build resilience tech, or hack on cypherpunk-aligned tools, come out and join us! P.S. Non-devs welcome too. There’s plenty to do. Details in the comments πŸ‘‡

Off to @EFDevcon ! @Canarysafe will be at the @web3privacy Cypherpunk Congress in Buenos Aires on the 16th. See you there πŸ–€
Our participation in the Cypherpunk Launchpad, a three-month incubation for early-stage privacy tools, officially concluded last month. With it, Canary spreads its wings for the next flight of its development journey. A big thank-you to @web3privacy for introducing us to mentors and supporting our first months of building with a Launchpad grant. We are honored to have been the very first project chosen for the program. πŸ™πŸΌ Our mentor calls were invaluable. Building civil liberties technology brings complex design, ethical, and threat-model questions. Their guidance helped us navigate everything with more clarity. Canary went from a true hackathon project, stitched together tech and a bold vision to a functional prototype with an extensive list of features. Next Stop: Cypherpunk Congress, Buenos Aires. We’re gearing up for a very full day on November 16 at the world’s largest gathering of privacy and human-rights builders. Over 3,000 attendees will meet to celebrate digital freedom alongside voices like Richard Stallman, @VitalikButerin, @RogerDingledine, and @evacide. At our booth, you’ll be able to use Canary, encrypt a message (powered by @buildwithtaco) that will be released at the end of the Congress, and get a little thank you gift for spending some time with us. This event is our chance to show Canary’s usability in a real-world setting, gather feedback, and bring more builders, donors, and allies into the mission. Hope to see you there 🐦

It's gonna be a busy month
A lot has happened since we won a @web3privacy hack in June. Canary just officially completed the Cypherpunk Launchpad program (honored to be the first project to do so), and is moving into the next chapter of development. πŸ› οΈ What are we planning? Read on πŸ‘‡

Canary began as a winning hackathon project at the @web3privacy Hack in Berlin, then accepted as the first project in the Cypherpunk Launchpad, a three-month incubation for early-stage privacy tools. We'll be at the Cyberpunk Congress during @EFDevcon showing the latest version.

Did I just get pranked by AI? πŸ˜† I prompted @cursor_ai : β€œCreate a new next.js static site a sharp, dark, minimalistic video gallery with auto play previews on hover.” ... and got a gallery of Rick Astley singing Never Gonna Give You Up πŸŽ΅πŸ•Ί

β€œIf you’re no longer able to deliver, who will?” That’s why @Canarysafe exists. A deadman switch for the decentralized age. Canary is first project in our new Launchpad: an accelerator turning post-hack ideas into real privacy tools. Pls follow them!
Devices fail. Servers shut down. Clouds get hacked. Censors erase. Even the people meant to receive them may never see them, if you are no longer able to deliver. That’s why Canary exists. Read about Canary and our latest developments in our newsletter πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

My Craigslist ad is up. πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ After 6 months of building my own products, I’m back on the market. To read more about what I learned during my time away, and what I'm excited to offer now, go find my landing page in the comments (credits to @cursor_ai for helping me whip this up in a couple days...) The TLDR; β†’ Creative direction for early-stage products and organizations β†’ Narrative & brand voice development for teams & founders β†’ Product storytelling across mediums (web, socials, live) I will keep building capsules and @Canarysafe but I’m open to supporting 1–2 clients πŸͺ„ I’m especially excited to work with: 1. Start-ups doing something seriously different and transformational like @mymindbloom (I actually found Mindbloom whilst doing webdesign research for Canary. Still swooning over their site design and client onboarding flow) 2. Believers and supporters of early-stage orgs building beautiful and ambitious things like @LongJourneyVC (I found this team over my connection to @JoinEdgeCity and love what they stand for) 3. Teams that work directly in pursuit of narrative depth, like Rostra (I’ve long admired the writings and works of both @lulumeservey and @gaby_goldberg ) Let's go πŸ€“

Since entering on my own -1 to 0 (the β€œno idea what I’m doing” stage where you’re still choosing what to commit to) in May, I’ve been so inspired by @farzatv … I’ve since moved into the 0 to 1 stage, but his openness and genuine β€œlet’s f**k around and try things” approach to creating (and building in public) has been freeing for me… and has, I believe, enabled me to go further faster with the products I'm building currently. So much so that when it came to coding a landing page for Capsules (link in my profile) I copied the exact concept he had used for Tidbit. (check the pics, lmk which one you like better ;-D...) Took me a couple hours with @cursor_ai Thank you @farzatv for continuing to inspire me both to build, aaaaand to share what I build. <3
I'm a big believer in the thought that ideas do not deserve life they must earn life. It's too easy to get caught in an idea that's just okay. We're giving Tidbit 3 more weeks to live. Got 35 paying teams, 400+ free teams, decent usage. The signs are there. It's clear there's a potential product here. But, I think it's our job to quickly decide if there's a potential product here people can't live without. To build that that can take years ofc. But, for the next 3-weeks we will be even more aggressive. Get even more data. And try even more things. All to decide if we want to spend the months/years required to make this thing truly great. And in 3-weeks, Tidbit's future fate shall be decided and we'll see if it deserves further life. Should be fun. Pretty in-depth post: farza.com/3-wks

Any other @n8n_io workflow builders out here? Currently: building a content agent for 2 products. Everything from finding our ideal audience on 3 social platforms, to researching topics that are relevant to our audience... to generating content ideas. "human in the loop" of course!

My friend is raising funds for his brother + family, they lost their house in a fire! Please support.
What is the best platform to use to raise funds with crypto? This Friday my brother @brihurwitz, sister in law, and 9 year old nephew suffered a fire resulting in a loss of everything they own. Most importantly they made it out alive. I estimate the insurance process will take a long time and there are many things needed in the meantime not covered. Platform I'm looking for - Accepts crypto and credit cards - No or low processing fee - Anonymous option with OFAC compliance, similar to @0xprivacypools - Downloadable data
Are we outsourcing intimacy to machines πŸ‘Ύβ€¦ or can AI actually help us connect more deeply with each other? For my friend’s birthday, I built a personalized LLM trained on 6 years of our messages and voice notes. πŸ’™ I wrote about the process, part technical breakdown, part reflection on how we can shape the future of AI tools to amplify care, attention, and connection. πŸ“– Read it in an interactive visual format we call Capsules...We’re giving early test users access to Capsules. πŸ’¬ I also made a sheet of questions for my friend to ask the LLM. On the sheet are prompts like: β€œRemind us of an idea we once loved but never acted on.” β€œTell us a story from our conversations that made us both laugh.” Comment or msg if you want access to the questions sheet or become and early test user of Capsules.
