As a 45 year California resident, I love the dream. I desperately desperately want you to be right, and I want to avoid my well chiseled cynicism, but how the hell can you keep all the bozos out of this project? Politicians with hands out, Builders jacking construction costs, Environmental groups protecting endangered snails, just to name 3. The graft, cost overruns, delays, you鈥檒l be a very old man before this is 1/20 completed. Granted Gavin and his clown car will be gone, but a new clown car filled with new snakes will slither in. Just look at the one mile of train track Gavin built in So Cal. Over 15 years. You鈥檙e from old Soviet era Czechoslovakia? This is probably akin to that ugly world. Bonne chance.

Thank you! It鈥檚 all up to us. I choose to believe California has awakened and is going back to building great things. And we鈥檙e doing our part to make that happen.

Yes. As someone who fervently wishes to see California regain just a little bit of what we once had this project will be my barometer for how we are doing. The only way i can see it achieving even a small number of its goals in the next 20 years or so is if some the structural problems we have in governance are dismantled. The corruption and graft in the Democratic party must begin to be dismantled for this to even stand a small chance of succeeding.

As CA native w family in heavy construction completely agree with all your points but so grateful someone has the spine funding and energy to challenge what we鈥檝e accepted as status quo. In pleasant disbelief someone would take on these odds.
