Did you know how “K8s” became a short form of “Kubernetes”? •Take the word Kubernetes •Keep the first and last letters: K and s •Count how many letters are in between, there are 8 •Combine them: K + 8 + s → K8s So K8s = Kubernetes It’s just a shorthand developers use because “Kubernetes” is long to type. Just like how “i18n” means internationalization (18 letters between “i” and “n”).
