It's telling just how many replies to this are very much not happy with the inclusion of AI. Feels like Microsoft is forcing it into people's homes without their consent.
AI is now built in. “Every Windows 11 PC is now an AI PC – with Copilot at the center of it all.”

Being trans is one of the most beautiful things in the world: to seek and find the true self. People who want to destroy trans-ness are trying to destroy beauty.

How anyone could support someone spouting off heinous ideologies, and then declare we need to make more room for such voices, is beyond me. There is no room at the table for those who wish to purify cultures. We already know what that is.

On the chance someone following me is interested in some trans lesbian sci-fi... I'm putting out a book next month! It's currently available for quite a steal at $1 for pre-order (the price will go up after it's published) transistance.itch.io/machine…

Cognitive impairment plus reports coming out that it makes folks less efficient really gets me wondering if the hidden costs are something people won't catch at first, and we'll only catch in hindsight. Again, caution seems warranted.

With the data is just coming in about how much damage to cognition AI causes, the right path feels like we should tail off our usage until we understand it better. The last thing we need is for humans to run head-long into something that might be causing long-term damage.

That's... wild. I spent part of the morning looking back through the people I follow. With a couple rare exceptions, no one is here anymore. No one posts here specifically. I knew some folks would migrate, but I didn't expect everyone would be gone.

Hey all. It's really starting to take off over there. I don't really check this place anymore.

Crazy to see @nu_shell is only 5 years old yet so powerful and enjoyable. I’ll keep advocating for that shell because it’s just so damn good.

Something I miss in the death of DVD/Blu-ray is all the commentary tracks.

Anyone else pronounce "pumice" as "pewmiss" and not "pumiss"? Is that just a me thing?

It’s Beta Reader Appreciation Day, and I’d like to give a huge, heartfelt shout-out to all of my amazing beta readers, past and present, who help me make my books the best they can be! 🩷

On a personal note, this is my first time as part of one of these bundles. The story was a lot of fun to write, and I'm proud of the result. I had a chance to read some of the other stories in the bundle, and they're really good. Definitely worth it.
The Secret Trans Writing Lair has put together it's latest bundle... and I'm in it! It's a heck of a deal. 11 brand new stories for $6. itch.io/b/2684/stwl-presents…

Sad to report for folks following me for tech content: I tried to code this morning, and it felt like going to to the dentist. Not fun at all. That's five months and counting. It might be a while before it comes back. Brainstorming and related I can do, but not coding.
