Most API docs only show HTTP endpoints, but developers write code with SDKs. We're doing things differently with the Stainless Docs Platform, now available in early access. Stainless Docs are SDK-native. They update automatically when your API changes. Devs see your docs in the language of their choice with method signatures, types, and accurate code snippets.
And we'd love to help if you're building for developers🧑‍💻
From dorm rooms to million-dollar companies. You can just do things. And YC can help. Apply to W26 by November 10: ycombinator.com/apply

I joined @StainlessAPI almost exactly 1 yr ago. Today, I’m excited to finally share what I’ve been up to: the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺. The best modern commercial docs products make it easy to get a beautiful site ~instantly. And the best OSS frameworks have made it possible to get site where you can control ~everything. We ask: what if you could get the best of both?

We're excited to welcome @cjav_dev to the Stainless team ✱ CJ spent several years at Stripe, where he launched and grew the original Stripe Developers YouTube channel, built the .NET SDK codegen pipeline, and helped make the Stripe API easier for developers to use.

This is something we're working very hard on at @StainlessAPI given our proximity to API specs and SDK implementations. We feel like we can get really, really good at helping LLMs write integration code.

Wrote up some notes on my blog - I think this is a really solid idea and I'm looking forward to seeing some implementations simonwillison.net/2025/Nov/4…

Introducing our newest sponsor, @StainlessAPI ✳️ Stainless just made a huge bet on Astro: the new Stainless Docs Platform. Now, you can get an Astro-powered docs site generated for you, updated for you, and automatically kept in-sync with your Stainless SDKs and API spec.

You also have full control over your docs. Each site is an open-source @astrodotbuild project you can edit, theme, and extend. Host with @Cloudflare-backed reliability through Stainless, or self-host anywhere like @Vercel, @flydotio, or @deno_land.

Every Stainless Docs site ships with a clean, modern theme with minimal client JavaScript and ridiculously fast page load times. Docs are LLM-friendly (.md routes for every page) and have pre-baked integrations with AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor

The Stainless Config now supports Editions, a versioning system that lets you adopt updates incrementally, per language. There are two types of editions: ✱ Top-level editions for general, cross-language updates ✱ Language-specific editions for changes unique to a single SDK This gives you granular control to roll out improvements (like updated defaults or renamed properties) safely, at your own pace. stainless.com/changelog/edit…

We've partnered with @StainlessAPI to build out our next generation of SDKs. They're the team that helps design and maintain SDKs for companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cloudflare. Together we launched our MCP server, now the Python SDK beta, and soon a new TypeScript SDK. Stay tuned for more.

Over the past few months at @dedaluslabs, we’ve noticed how many talented founders from around the world are being held back by one thing: location. There is no better place in the world to build an AI startup than San Francisco. SF is home to all the major AI labs, top talent, world-class investors, and it is where the future is being built every day. That’s why, this December, we’re giving builders everywhere a chance to break in. We are taking over @_TheResidency and launching Break In—a month-long hacker house program in the heart of San Francisco. If you’re not from SF, and you’re building an AI startup, this is your chance to join us. Build your startup on top of Dedalus’ Agents SDK or MCP deployment infrastructure and we’ll cover your stay (housing, lunch, and co-working space). As a member of Break In, you’ll get access to all the best parts of SF. You’ll be introduced to top founders, mentors, and investors. You’ll get to skip the line at the biggest tech events. Plus, you’ll receive free API credits and expanded access to the best-in-class AI stack through our partner network of top AI infrastructure companies. Applications open October 27th and close November 10th. We will be accepting applications on a rolling basis. Final acceptances will go out November 14th to ensure international founders have enough time to secure visas. Ready to break in? Follow us on Twitter/X for more updates and visit the link in the comments to apply on October 27th!

Congrats to @dedaluslabs on the $11M seed round 🚀 Their open-source agent SDK (github.com/dedalus-labs/deda…) uniquely supports model handoffs, streaming, and tool calling in just one copy-paste. Excited to support the the team as they build the next layer of agent infrastructure.
We just raised an $11M seed to help developers build complex agents across any model and any tool in 5 lines of code. Our round was led by @KindredVentures (@stevejang) and @saga_ventures (@maxaltman, @braveben, @itsthomson). At @DedalusLabs, we believe the future of AI agents isn’t linear or deterministic. Agents should know when to stop, when to branch, when to reattempt a task, and when to pause and ask for context. As a developer, we make your job simple: define the prompt, select the right tools and guardrails, and let your agent run. We were tired of writing hundreds of lines of code and battling Dockerfiles and infra—all for a spaghetti agent that breaks under stress. With Dedalus, you don’t have to do things the hard way. Our open-source SDK supports vendor-agnostic model handoffs, chaining both local and hosted (MCP) tools, and streaming across any provider—all in 5 lines of code. Plus, our cloud infra lets you deploy an MCP server in 3 clicks so anyone can equip their agent with your tools. Let us do the heavy lifting so your agents can fly 🪽 Thank you to our incredible team and our early supporters: @c10n, @habibh from @e14fund, @YazanElBaba from @emergencecap, @donnystalter from @SunshineLakeVC, @karrwinn from @transposevc, @liquid2V, @fpvventures, @forwarddeploy, @AntWilson, @iamcal, @Thom_Wolf, @ashtom, @HazanPrinceton, @tri_dao
