I am saddened to learn of the passing of former Vice President Dick Cheney.
Vice President Cheney was a devoted public servant, from the halls of Congress to many positions of leadership in multiple presidential administrations. His passing marks the loss of a figure who, with a strong sense of dedication, gave so much of his life to the country he loved.
Doug and I are keeping Lynne, their daughters Liz and Mary, and the entire Cheney family in our thoughts during this difficult time.

When Trump and Witkoff engineered their first multi-stage cease-fire agreement in January, Netanyahu told Israelis in Hebrew he had no intention of complying with subsequent steps once it got hostages back.
Of course one hopes this one endures, but skepticism is very rational:
I've received new information that shattered any bit of optimism I had about the Trump Gaza deal!
It's neither a plan nor a framework, it's a political performance that aims to legitimize further violence. It's not meant to last beyond the hostage release.
These aren't my words, it's the assessment of the very mediators brokering this deal!
