Okay, so here's all the problems that people seem to be having with Zcash:
- core contributor is trans (okay?)
- Mossad backdoored it because one of the co-creators of Zerocash is Israeli (following that logic, every zero-knowledge proof construction ever created is backdoored by Mossad because Shafi Goldwasser co-invented zero-knowledge proofs)
- NSA backdoored it because DARPA provided funding for the research (by that logic, SHA-2 and SHA-3 are also backdoored by NSA + Zcash has had two different iterations of shielded pools since then)
- not used for illicit activities (Tornado Cash, which is essentially Zcash with a smart contract attached to it, has)
- not delisted from all U.S.-based exchanges unlike Monero (Monero is not delisted from all U.S.-based exchanges either)
- the founders own the "decryption keys" (the trusted setup is only necessary for Sprout and Sapling, Orchard is Halo 2-based, which doesn't require a trusted setup)
