You inspired me to do this not-as-compellingly-creepy version that only highlights runways within 200 km with headings that are within 20 degrees of the mouse heading. You can really see the distinct N-S prevailing winds in the U.S. midwest.

Aw hell no, get that spider off the map, ASAP. I still kind of want to see if making it the closest 8 airports would make it even more unnerving. Also IDK why, but it being airports makes it infinitely worse.

This inspired me to do the same with the closest 10 Dollar General Stores mjcarroll.io/spoke/ Unfortunately, had to filter to a few Southeastern states because the 19,000 locations were grinding it to a halt.
