4x3-foot backlit shaded relief of California; used an aspect layer filled with translucent fuzzy orange to give it a sunsetty look like the CA I remember. Sierras look like Himalayas but, cartographer’s law, it’s my map and I’ll -z 3 if I want to

Do you classify the area by land cover and then fill it using a raster image for each land cover type?

Exactly, used NLCD data, each of those land cover classes became a photoshop layer, tinted those
