update: we moved into a an apartment in SF with the most beautiful view of the ships passing under the golden gate bridge so we put up an AIS antenna and a monitor so we can see what their names are

It's never been a better time to build hardware in San Francisco Major thanks to @DanielLurie and his team for their support as we stand up our new factory in SoMa this year
👀
We actually did create an insane hacker puzzle for the record (unrelated to this) with a 24 hour timer that destroys the tracks and videos if yall can't solve them in time (and they r rly hard tbh I cannot solve them) but we're just finishing it

New post: [Be the Navy, Not a Pirate] Pirates made headlines; the navy made history. The pirate phase is how the impossible begins. But to build something that lasts, you need more than courage. You need command, coordination, and clarity. Build the navy. Post below 👇

Today, @ValthosTech launches with $30M from @Lux_Capital, @OpenAI, and @foundersfund. For the past few months I’ve been working with their world-class team (@MIT, @GoogleDeepMind, @PalantirTech) building America’s modern next-gen infrastructure. Hiring –– DM me.
Valthos builds next-generation biodefense. Of all AI applications, biotechnology has the highest upside and most catastrophic downside. Heroes at the frontlines of biodefense are working every day to protect the world against the worst case. But the pace of biotech is against them: more powerful methods to design biological systems, with near-universal access, open up an increasing surface area of threats. In this new world, the only way forward is to be faster. So we set out to build the tech stack for biodefense. Our team of computational biologists and software engineers applies frontier AI to identify biological threats and update medical countermeasures in real-time. We are backed by $30M from @OpenAI, @Lux_Capital, @foundersfund and others including @Definition_Cap. We are actively hiring engineers to join in the mission - if that sounds like you, get in touch.
In 1941, my grandfather was stationed in Hawaii as a cartographer drawing maps that guided U.S. forces through WWII. This week, we briefed PACAF and INDOPACOM in Hawaii on closing critical air dominance gaps with our technology. I like to think he’d be proud 🇺🇸

I’m excited to announce Lapis, the fastest and most accurate analytics platform for AI search engines like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Grok. Here’s why we wanted to tackle this specific problem. The way we access information is fundamentally changing, ChatGPT and Perplexity are the new defaults. Unlike Google which shows you a list of blue links to click on, ChatGPT answers in big paragraphs with context. Traditional SEO elements like rank or keywords or authority are no longer relevant in ChatGPT. What matters is context. When I mention I’m building in AI Search, the first question I get is: How can I improve my position? The most popular suggestion is to generate 100s of fake blogs. But every internet user is tired of SEO blog spam. Nobody likes it, the business owner doesn’t like it, the end user doesn’t like reading it and lets be real, nobody really reads blogs anymore. We’re taking a whole new approach to GEO.
Lapis (@trylapis) is building the fastest, most accurate AI search analytics platform. Today, every business is asking, "How do we rank in AI search?" Lapis analyzes millions of user prompts daily, changes content in real-time, and links to external sites for visibility.

After a formative time at OpenAI, I’m launching Maison AGI (@maisonagi), a fashion house creating cultural artifacts for the AI era. Our first collection, Relic of Thought, is a collaboration with Ilya Sutskever (@ilyasut), featuring his original artworks alongside a signature hat modeled after his iconic head. It is a study in conviction and the clarity of vision that gives thought its form. I believe we're living through something extraordinary that deserves to be remembered. Not in research papers or technical model cards, but in tangible objects we can hold, wear, and pass down. Working alongside some of the world's brilliant researchers building Claude and ChatGPT, I've come to realize they are among the most creative minds alive. Research, at its best, is an act of imagination: the ability to glimpse what doesn't yet exist and then build toward it. Many of them remain unseen, even as their work quietly reshapes our future. Though AGI progress can feel incomprehensible from the outside, its story is deeply human - full of curiosity, conviction, and creation. We're bridging that world with the creatives who give form to ideas. This may be humanity's last time to create a hand-crafted project before what we build surpasses us. Each collection is also a message to superintelligence itself: that we cared, and that we tried to make beauty out of understanding.
