Back in 2024 LEGO affirmed their stance against generative AI when people noticed outsourced marketing materials had been created with it
Extremely disheartening to see them pedal back, today
This calls to question every single public facing stance & moral decision they’ve made
2024: LEGO holds events in Livetopia, Twilight Daycare, and Club Roblox.
2025: LEGO holds events in Barry's Prison Run, Blade Ball, and Fisch.
2016: Roblox features 4Sci's submission to the *actual* LEGO Ideas on their blog.
2017: Two Ninjago hats are added to the catalog, promoting the series and the movie.
2013: Hero Factory returns with Brain Attack, introducing another game and more items.
2014: Roblox holds a LEGO Ideas Building Contest (not associated with the LEGO Ideas website)
2012: A Hero Factory: Breakout event happens, with its own game and items. A LEGO Star Wars event was also planned, but cancelled by the Disney merger. That same year, Roblox introduces the Man and Woman packages, with clear resemblance to LEGO.
Early days: While the inspiration is obvious, Roblox avoids association with LEGO, and bans users for mentioning them together. This went as far as an odd Roblox book writing around the name. Illustrator Mike Rayhawk even worked with both companies.
