In talking with a representative of ABMC - an organization I was once part of -these panels were part of a rotating display that is constantly changed, and that there are now other panels portraying other actions by black soldiers. Appears there is more to this story.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

Thank you to our great speakers for joining us last night at the Barn Resort in Gettysburg! None of this work is possible without our incredible volunteers who help us execute these events from start to finish. Stay tuned for more events.
It was an honor to speak tonight in Gettysburg, PA with @SykesCharlie, @MilesTaylorUSA, @ConorLambPA, & @MarkHertling at a great, informative @Principles_1st event.

Talking to a close young friend who is a federal worker today, I asked how he & his family were doing. “We’re digging into savings, we’re barely making it.” He said. “Our concern is we may not get back pay. That would wipe out everything we saved for our kids college.”
OH MY—No back pay for furloughed federal workers?!? “Administration hints furloughed workers may not be paid after shutdown” washingtonpost.com/business/…

Forgive the Revolutionary War symbolism. NJ & VA were at a pivotal moment — just like during 2 defining periods of the Revolution. This time, 2 strong women stood strong against authoritarianism. NJ & VA are beacons of victory & democratic strength for a nation needing it.

"Secretary Hegseth’s 'Yes sir' response to Trump’s social media post regarding a mission in Nigeria may sound loyal, but it’s the opposite of leadership." Always know what you're getting yourself into. New from @MarkHertling: thebulwark.com/p/nigeria-rom…
Reading both @McFaul and @andrewrsorkin books, switching between the two. But hearing about @juliaioffe new book and her years of research, it’s now on order. Too many books, not enuf time (thank goodness baseball season if over)!
Nice to see my book right next to @juliaioffe ‘s Motherland @kramerbooks ! Get both.

The “official” announcement will come tomorrow, but many people have been asking how to pre-order a signed copy of my book. Try this web page. ballastbooks.com/ballast-boo…
The minds of two little grandsons, focused on critical tasks the morning after Halloween. What joy it was to be with them.
