“The zero-sum mindset you have is at the root of so much evil.” Exactly.

You are a taker, not a maker. All you’ve done your whole life is take from the makers of the world. The zero-sum mindset you have is at the root of so much evil. Once you realize that civilization is not zero-sum and that it is about making far more than one consumes, then it becomes obvious that the path to prosperity for all is just let the makers make. Regarding Tesla, the reality is that I have been given nothing. However, if I lead Tesla to become the most valuable company in the world by far and it stays that way for 5 years, shareholders voted to award me 12% of what is built. Anyone who wants to come along for the ride can buy Tesla stock. If Tesla “merely” becomes a $1.999 trillion dollar company, I get nothing. This is a great deal for shareholders, which is why they voted so overwhelmingly to approve this, for which I am immensely grateful. And they did so by a margin far more than you won your political seat.

Honest question, why does Elon need a trillion dollars and what will he do with it? He’s already the richest man in the world, I don’t know how he can claim the got nothing! More money than he can spend in 100 life times, and zero philanthropy! Leave to his kids or what?

Tell me one fact about his compensation plan and I've give you an honest answer.

How many times does he have to ship thousands of Starlink terminals and power wall/solar panel emergency packages into disaster zones for free before it counts as philanthropy? Why does planting a few trees absorb a little CO2 as a charity count as philanthropy but building 8 million BEVs to divert Giga tons of CO2 from ever being burnt not count as philanthropy? Why does paying for a few amature telescopes to look for Earth-threatening asteroids count as philanthropy but building a giant fleet of rockets that can be used to deflect them not?
Fund 1k Starships like in Battle Star Galactica to move 100k souls to Mars. Fund a full blown city on Mars. Make us a multi planetary species Does not think selfish like you do about how many life times he would need to spend it 🤘

He isn't being given $1 Trillion. He will be awarded shares of his own company to allow him to regain a controlling stake and thus be able to decide the future of the company, instead of hedge funds and other large shareholders being able to vote him out.

What’s more philanthropic than value creation for shareholders and job creation for workers? Lazy people just give money, driven people create the change they want to see.

You think a company worth 1.45 trillion is giving their CEO a trillion dollars? Wild.

just a few minutes of research is your friend chatgpt.com/share/690e64cb-1…

These are the types of questions asked by people who don’t understand the concept of “equity”
I mean he doesn’t have it as cash? He doesn’t really spend money. All he does it work? He just wants to be able to control his company
How much money someone is worth or what they will do with a lot more if they hit huge growth targets is none of your concern . He needs to be compensated just like any athlete is compensated for meeting set goals
So not only did you not research his pay deal, you also forgot to research his philanthropy. This is exactly what is wrong with the internet today - people commenting without being fully informed. x.com/i/grok/share/oYWDV6IR2…

He needs to control the company and not have randoms(bad actors) 🦵 him out like they did to Steve Jobs like they tried doing at Delaware crts etc. That’s it. He doesn’t need the money but needs to control things, which is a good thing.

It's called capital allocation. Elon is very, very good at it, so the more capital he accumulates, the better that capital is allocated, the more value is created, and all of us are better off.
3
Seriously…….Costs to go to Mars are exorbitant????? Open your mind.
1
He wants approx 25% control of Tesla, or he walks. The only way to grant him that much control is to grant him stock. It will take him a few years to earn all those shares, and then he has a very long holding period. He can’t sell his shares for a long time.
2
Do you research before you comment.
1
It’s not money. It’s Tesla shares that may be worth a lot more if he pulls lots of rabbits out of lots of hats. Owning shares gives voting power.
18
Honest question. Before asking such question did you really do any work to understand the compensation deal?
33
why do people ask questions without just looking up the answer it's about voting control. not money
2
Elons end game: ”…die on Mars, just not on impact” Honorable mission, enjoy the ride!
I couldn’t understand why people can ask such stupid question if they really had read the materials
2
Zero philanthropy? You gotta be kidding
3
He is not getting 1T in cash. He gets stock in his company which gives him the voting rights that he wants to keep the company on the right track

None of this question even makes sense. Are you joking or just super dumb?
9
Did you read and educate yourself on the compensation package? You SHOULD, before making any comments. There is a reason that investors voted yes to it.

In order for @elonmusk to earn his $1 trillion comp plan, he needs to 8x $TSLA and in the process he will make me nearly $25,000,000. Is there supposed to be a problem here?
2
He isn’t being given a trillion dollars.
17
Wrong question. You should get paid by how much value you create, not by what you need. Elon has proved to be the greatest allocator of money in our generation, possibly ever. If he earns the compensation it will be because he created trillions of value for others, which will also created trillions of taxes that otherwise would not exist.
That trillion has yet to materialize. When it does, it's entirely @ElonMusk’s prerogative what he does with it. If he wants to make a bonfire with it, so be it. He's not obliged to feed the hungry or save the planet. Charity or kindness cannot and should not be compelled. He earned every penny. Unless laws were broken, it’s no one’s business what he does with his money. Resenting others’s success is petty. If you don’t like Elon getting his pay package, by all means create the value he has created for consumers and for humanity in general, earn your trillion, give it away to philanthropy, then criticize him.
He’s said many times he will use that money to fund mars missions. Also not dollars but stock which gives him more control over his company.

Apparently Money is not what he wants. He wants to accomplish his mission to create sustainable abundance. Electrification, autonomy, solar energy, humanoid robots, AI and multi-planetary…all for this purpose and they need a lot of $$$.
4
Honestly a stupid question.
1
Founding a sustainable permanent colony on Mars ain't gonna be cheap.
Musk says understanding the meaning of the universe depends on asking the right question. Yo say it’s, ‘What can you do with more money?’ I think it’s ‘What can you do with more freedom?’ Do you have a better question?
2
Simple answer: he took his payout from PayPal and self-funded Tesla & SpaceX, nearly going broke in the process. Imagine what he could build with $1T?
