That $1 trillion doesn’t exist yet. Elon still has to pull many miracles in order to EARN it. Miracles that no other human alive is capable of. But he’s pulled miracles before. Buy $TSLA and use your 6X (or more) gains for philanthropy instead of complaining. Why would Elon go through production hell again to earn something so that other people (who didn’t do sh*t, mind you) can tell him how to spend it? Value only gets created when there is an incentive to create. Elon is the only guy who knows exactly what to do with $1 trillion. He will create even MORE trillions with that trillion, creating jobs, life saving products, tax revenue, and will provide inspiration and future job prospects for our greatest young minds. If you give literally anyone else $1 trillion, any philanthropic effort beyond the hundreds of millions of dollars goes straight to useless middlemen and crooks. So we’re talking 99.99999% waste and negative social externalities by rewarding mediocrity and thievery. Philanthropy at scale is indistinguishable from big government waste. Elon does a lot of really well thought out philanthropy by the way. No excess, no waste.

Honest question, why does Elon need a trillion dollars and what will he do with it? He’s already the richest man in the world, I don’t know how he can claim the got nothing! More money than he can spend in 100 life times, and zero philanthropy! Leave to his kids or what?
My favorite part: "The zero-sum mindset you have is at the root of so much evil. Once you realize that civilization is not zero-sum and that it is about making far more than one consumes, then it becomes obvious that the path to prosperity for all is just let the makers make"

You are a taker, not a maker. All you’ve done your whole life is take from the makers of the world. The zero-sum mindset you have is at the root of so much evil. Once you realize that civilization is not zero-sum and that it is about making far more than one consumes, then it becomes obvious that the path to prosperity for all is just let the makers make. Regarding Tesla, the reality is that I have been given nothing. However, if I lead Tesla to become the most valuable company in the world by far and it stays that way for 5 years, shareholders voted to award me 12% of what is built. Anyone who wants to come along for the ride can buy Tesla stock. If Tesla “merely” becomes a $1.999 trillion dollar company, I get nothing. This is a great deal for shareholders, which is why they voted so overwhelmingly to approve this, for which I am immensely grateful. And they did so by a margin far more than you won your political seat.

Have you ever met a "genius" who's broke? I have. Plenty. I've seen PhDs go broke and high school grads build empires (literally). The difference isn't IQ. It's ego. Money is a game. Being smart doesn't mean you know the rules. Drop the ego. It's costing you a fortune.

@Tesla shareholders: We did it! 75%+ voted YES on Elon’s 2025 CEO Performance Award. From my 2014 $TSLA & SolarCity buys to today: autonomy, Optimus, and robotaxis. No cash grab. Pure performance milestones to hit $8.5T market cap, 20M vehicles, 1M robotaxis, Optimus scaling.

It's NOT the government's job to de-risk private investments. If a business case is sound, private capital will fund it. If it's not, taxpayers should not be the safety net. "Private profits and socialized losses?" Nope! Let the market work.
If OpenAI were to fail it would have zero impact on the future of AI ZERO! They have a dozen viable competitors and ten folks who would buy the assets Let it rise or fall based on merit…

Since I was a baby, my dad has been whispering in my ear that one of my goals should be to be a millionaire. He told me that not everyone can be everything they want to be or do whatever they want to do. He taught me that wishful thinking is a waste of time and energy.

Some parents teach their kids to hate the rich. My dad taught me to become one. He taught me to face reality. To do productive sh*t. And to never, ever play the victim. The most valuable inheritance isn't money. It's a mindset. Thanks, Dad

End-of-year pressure is a gift. Confront your money systems. Mine are set. Tax-advantaged accounts maxed. Still stacking Bitcoin. Cardano stack goals met. Overflow goes to brokerage. You have 56 days to finish strong. Your life. Your rules. Start acting like it.

People complain about being lonely. Few ask if they are good company. The quality of your friendships is a direct reflection of you. You cannot attract high-value people with low-value character. Instead of trying to get friends, focus on deserving them. Be reliable. Do what you say you will do. Have integrity. Don't gossip. Be trustworthy when no one is watching. Be interesting. Learn new skills. Have a point of view. Stop complaining. Fix the person in the mirror first. The relationships will follow.

When does "living in the moment" become "screwing your future self"? I talked to a 40-year-old guy yesterday. Let's call him Max. He travels internationally 3-4 times a year. Domestically? At least 5 times. His life looks amazing. He has $0 invested for his future. Zero. He's living for the moment and sacrificing his entire future for it. This isn't about shaming him. It's a warning. The lifestyle you "can afford" today is a trap if it costs you your freedom tomorrow. Don't wake up at 45 with a passport full of stamps and a bank account full of regrets.

If you are pinging someone who’s busier than you, you should have a single well-thought-out specific ask. Only ask for something you truly cannot do on your own, and where you have done everything you possibly can by yourself. For example, if you’re asking someone to send an email on your behalf, you should have a draft message ready. If you’re asking them to sign something, you should prepare a docusign beforehand with the signature blocks indicated. Or if you’re asking for an appointment, you should do it at their convenience. Asking for time is like asking for capital, so be efficient with your asks.

You don't owe anyone an explanation for the life you want to build. We're taught to justify our choices. To seek approval for our ambition. It’s a trap that keeps you small. The alternative is radical ownership. Let your results speak so loudly you don't have to. What will you stop explaining?

I spoke to a guy I'll call Mark last week. He's 34. He has 3 loans and credit card debt. Total debt: 217k And single-handedly supporting his parents. They can work. They just don't want to. Mark is a sharp guy. A good son. He has dreams. He wants to start investing for his future. But he can't. Every single paycheck goes into a financial black hole. His parent's rent. Their car payment. Their groceries. He's funding a lifestyle he can't even afford for himself. I asked him why he does it. His answer? "They're my parents. It's my duty." He's trapped by guilt. By a sense of obligation that is bankrupting his future, one month at a time. Since that call, I've had my eyes opened. Mark's story isn't a one-off. It's a silent epidemic chewing up the futures of an entire generation. Love and loyalty are being weaponized against their financial lives. Let me be brutally clear: Helping your family is noble. Martyring your future is not. "You cannot set yourself on fire to keep others warm." Your money needs rules. Your relationships need boundaries. You need a system that puts on your oxygen mask first. Not out of selfishness, but out of necessity. Because if you go down, everyone you're trying to help goes down with you. Your life. Your rules. Don't ever forget that.

Two things I've always loved: tech and "exotic" tropical fruits. When I moved to Canada, the regular grocery stores were a bust. So my mission was simple: find a way to get them delivered. (A thread - scroll) ↓
