📣 Today’s launch is our biggest release — and breakthrough — ever! Introducing three new AI agents, built for analytics and teams: 🧵 Threads: a conversational interface that lets anyone chat with data and get real insights 🛡️ Semantic Model Agent: create governed context to get accurate, trusted answers 📓 Notebook Agent: transforming how data teams do their day-to-day work All powered by our agent framework + Claude 4.5 Sonnet. Turns out, conversational AI for analytics isn’t years away — early feedback from our customers (like @pandadoc and @brexHQ) tells us it’s here right now. And it’s really good. ➡️ Learn more and try it yourself: hex.tech/blog/fall-2025-laun…

🆕 new in the Notebook Agent: deleted cell references get a nice little strikethru when deleted! Makes it easy when understand what's been done when skimming a thread. people think agents are some big scary thing but it's mostly just a lot of tiny little things like this 🙂
Dropped into a new sales leadership role at Hex. Didn’t know the team, pipeline, or what good looked like. But 8 days in, I was leading strategic convos, with data. Here’s how Threads helped me skip 3 months of ramp-up and start making impact fast: hex.tech/blog/using-threads-…

"We've seen our VP of sales ops getting into Hex.. doing some stuff that would have taken a deep Python background to do in his free time, wearing his pajamas. Which is pretty unbelievable." Hear more about why @HubSpot's Stephen Moseley and Tony Avino seriously love Hex ⤵️

🤖 Starting today, you can get answers and trusted context from the Hex Agent within the tools you’re already using. Introducing a native Slack integration and Model Context Protocol (MCP) support! Just ask a question in @SlackHQ, Claude (@AnthropicAI), or @cursor_ai to tap into Hex’s agentic capabilities.
We were vibe debugging our AI agent until I remembered I used to do data science for a living. Turns out: clustering the agent's reasoning after errors >>> manually looking at a bunch of threads. Here's what we found:

Hannah Burak, Data Product Manager at @pandadoc, shares how she’s using Hex Threads to help her stakeholders get answers to “what happened?” questions sooner. Now? → The finance team asks questions in plain English and get SQL-backed answers → Analysts spend less time fielding repeat questions → When needed, analysts can jump in and trace the logic Read the full story here: hex.tech/customers/pandadoc

We stopped trying to force analytics into a coding agent paradigm. Instead, we built computational maps that show notebook structure at a glance and fixed token budgets so agents can plan ahead and explicit feedback messages so the agent knows exactly what it's missing and how to explore further. The result: thousands of analysts now use it for deep, multi-step workflows!

Here's what we learned: - You can summarize code without losing meaning. You can't summarize data without losing reasoning. - Code has abstractions — functions, classes, interfaces. When you compress "this function calculates revenue," the summary preserves what matters.
When we launched the alpha, the agent would cruise through step 1 and 2 of an analysis, then hit a wall at step 3. The problem? It ran out of context. We'd compress previous steps to save space, but then the agent couldn't continue: "I need the actual conversion numbers from step 2."
The context engineering lesson we learned building agents inside of Hex? ➡️ Structure your environment and context to ride the reasoning wave.
