When we started @linear, remote work was a design choice to give us the freedom to focus and the flexibility to live where we want. This year, we’ve begun adding coworking hubs in Berlin, NYC and SF for those who can and want to cowork more regularly linear.app/now/designing-rem…

I can't tell you how many times I've seen a decision get made in a Slack thread and then someone has to do the manual work to: → Create the issue → Summarize the thread (maybe with AI) → Assign it to the right person I should just be able to @ mention an AI agent in any thread for it to summarize the thread and create the issue for me. @Linear's new AI agent for Slack is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm excited to delegate all the busy work to agents so I can focus on what I enjoy more.
New: Linear Agent for Slack Mention @linear in discussions on Slack and the Linear agent will create issues informed by your conversation's context.
Founders should take secondaries when they can. But don’t stop there. Let your employees participate too. They’re the ones who made the equity worth something alongside you. Some examples of companies making that happen recently: - linear.app/now/giving-our-te… - clay.com/blog/tender-offer - notion.com/blog/sequoia-inde…
Airbnb founders famously took a $21M secondary from the $112M Series B in 2011, which valued it at $1.2B. VCs said back then what they say today: secondaries terrible for innovation… I don’t buy it Airbnb went on to be a smashing success. Founders: take secondaries if you can
Still trying to figure out how I ended up speaking at the Cerebral Valley AI Summit hosted by @NewcomerMedia and @VolleyGames, but I assume it’s a scheduling error I’m too polite to correct. I plan to say “agents” and “execution” a few times and hope for the best.
Last year’s big themes still matter: adoption over hype, infra as a constraint, agents moving from demo to workflow. On Nov. 12, we test those ideas again, with the builders shipping now. On stage at CVAI: @mikeyk, @AnthropicAI @jimmybajimmyba, @xai @amasad, @Replit @rauchg, @vercel @winstonweinberg, @harvey @cjc, @linear @eladgil, Gil Capital and Gil & Co. @ilyaf, @kleinerperkins @andykonwinski, @LaudeVentures, @databricks and @perplexity_ai @matistanis, @elevenlabsio @tuhinone, @basetenco @eoghan, @intercom Apply to attend. Limited spots available: cerebralvalley.com/

I have startups now that use @linear as a dashboard to watch their AI agents creating, updating, and removing tasks via MCP. Humans don't touch it. It's so wild.

Narrative violation: you can build a $1B+ startup while being remote and having a life & family outside of work. At @linear we value quality & focus. We believe it comes from trust, ownership, and space to think.
IN SOFTWARE YOU ARE BUILDING SANDCASTLES (2025) A short film about life and work at Linear.
We’re often asked what it’s like to work at Linear, so we filmed a short video during our annual offsite in Copenhagen. IN SOFTWARE YOU ARE BUILDING SANDCASTLES (2025): a short film about how we work and why it matters.

We’re hiring an AI Engineer at Linear to build software that runs itself Most tools make you do the work. You click, fill, assign, and push things forward. Software shouldn’t need you to manage it. It should manage itself, it should feel like magic

Exciting to see the @github team launch the GitHub Copilot agent for @linear today. Developers are building agents on Linear’s platform at an incredible pace and we’re thrilled to see GitHub join them. Assign any issue, and Copilot takes it from idea → implementation → draft PR.
Now available for deployment: GitHub Copilot agent Assign any issue to GitHub Copilot and the agent will start working on an implementation, using the full issue context. When the work is ready, the issue is updated automatically with a draft PR.

Just finished listening to this great interview of @roelofbotha by @jaltma. In it, he argues that venture capital isn’t an asset class. It doesn’t scale with capital the way real asset classes do. More money doesn’t create more Stripes or Figmas—just a longer tail of startups that never will be. That’s what makes venture both seductive and cruel: the surface area for investment feels as though it's expanding infinitely, but the number of truly massive outcomes doesn’t. Employees face the same paradox when choosing where to work. Most choices look promising; almost none become generational.
This was an exceptionally cogent articulation from Roelof about the state of venture capital. "There's a lot more talent than really interesting companies to be built. And I think we're spreading a lot of that talent thin right now." "Venture is a return-free risk."
My mom raised two kids on her own and relied on food stamps to get by—while working full-time as a government employee. This little girl who loved edamame doesn’t need food assistance anymore, but it’s easier than you think to fall on hard times. Nearly half of Americans live one paycheck away from crisis. As the government threatens to defund SNAP because of its own dysfunction, millions of kids, seniors, and people with disabilities will go hungry. We’re all better off in a country where no child goes without food.
Many just read 40 million are going to starve. I just read 40 million people are being fed for free by stealing from those of us who produce. We are not the same.

The next era of SaaS isn’t about better prompts. It’s about software that runs itself: Self-driving SaaS In this post, @karrisaarinen shares what we’re building toward — self-driving systems that move work forward autonomously, so teams can focus entirely on product and customers.
Most AI tools are chatbots layered on top of old workflows. But the real change comes when AI proactively moves work forward. Welcome to the era of self-driving SaaS. linear.app/now/self-driving-…

Every evolution in software builds on what came before. You don’t start from scratch, you carry the best parts forward. The next step isn’t to replace the workflows, it’s making them self-driving. That’s where @linear is headed.

My mom bought me my first domain, where I built my first little corner of the internet. After she passed away last year, I missed the renewal emails, someone bought it, and won’t sell it back. So I rage-bought cristina.com. Mom would’ve approved the upgrade. ❤️💻
