Federal Agents Clash with Protesters During ICE Raid at California Farm
July 10, 2025
Camarillo, California
Facts:
On July 10, 2025, federal agents conducted an immigration raid at Glass House Farms, a marijuana facility along Laguna Road in the Camarillo area of Ventura County, leading to clashes with protesters.
The Department of Homeland Security stated agents were executing a warrant at the marijuana facility to enforce immigration laws, with a spokesperson emphasizing officers’ bravery in continuing to uphold the law.
Protesters clashed with masked federal agents, who used crowd control measures including irritants and tear gas; at least one person was detained, with footage showing agents pinning someone to the ground.
A news crew was hit with less-lethal rounds during the chaos, and a protester allegedly fired a gun at federal agents.
California Governor Gavin Newsom’s office condemned the raid as “inhumane,” stating it evokes chaos, fear, and terror in communities, including farmworkers, as part of the Trump administration’s tactics.
Another large-scale raid occurred in nearby Carpinteria, prompting a city council meeting to address the uptick in enforcement, following two prior raids that week.
The operation is part of President Trump’s directive for the largest mass deportation program in history, including deploying troops under Title 10 to protect federal personnel and property amid protests.
No injuries or arrests beyond the one detention were detailed in initial reports, and the road outside the farm was blocked off during the raid.
