so many places were selling for basically nothing back then. most people didnt take this risk even places like upper west side sucked, and now look like "obvious" investments but that was just not true

You can do the same thing as this man! Pick a city that is absolutely ruined like Detroit. Go buy a property for 1$ (yes they have some for sale for that price) fix it up, live in absolute chaos for 30 plus years until the area is revitalized. Some 20 something kid will be saying the same about you in 40 years.

Neil Jenney is literally a world famous, highly respected, highly collected artist. Easy to be jealous of guys like him, he got to live his dream and created a beautiful life for himself. The level of resentment & hatred directed at him is really pathetic. Why not just be happy for him?

You think when that place becomes available you will be able to get it with your two years salary? No. It’s going to join today’s market pricing. Literally no point in holding a grudge against this guy or anyone like him. Let him enjoy the rest of his life.

Do you have to go? Do you offer anything of value? Probably not so you should keep quiet. The place looks like a hell hole when he went there probably like a place that you escaped from.

no one wants to move to a bad neighborhood where businesses are leaving. They all want free prime real estate.

We must mandate that they give the majority of their wealth to the young and that cycle should always continue. When left to their own devices they will all of it to the grave.

Imagine even the most prolific painter of today being able to afford this same property in New York is absolutely laughable. They’re prob making art for some shitcoin company

I get where you're coming from, but the dude bought a dump in a shit part of town, made it nice, and everyone in his neighbourhood did the same. Now it's a highly desirable neighbourhood. There are plenty of places in the United States where you can recreate this and have similar results 50 years later.

Start saving bro, New York deals for rundown buildings is coming. You just have to wait a decade, socialism will give you the opportunity......unless the vacant buildings are turned into mosques.

We cam have it back if we deport every migrants who came here and received 200k business loans to buy up American businesses. Deport every single Indian and auction off their gas stations to people willing to operate them.

You understand, don’t you, that a good 85% of the issues here would disappear if we got all the extra people out. Housing prices will come down and wages will go up. This guy made good life choices. Good for him.
